Sunday, May 11 2008 - Join us as the Second Sundays Classical Guitar Concerts continue at the Roger Smith Hotel. This Sunday, at 4pm, we welcome Australian-born guitarist Rupert Boyd. Mr Boyd is considered one of the most promising guitarists of his generation and the recipient of numerous prices, including the Andrés Segovia Award from the Manhattan School of Music.

In Australia, Rupert was awarded First Prize in the open duo section of the Australian National Eisteddfod (2002), Second place in the ANU Chamber Music Competition (2002) and Second Prize in the Chamber Music section of the Australian Guitar Competition (2004). Since moving to the United States, Rupert has given numerous performances at one of New York's most prestigious classical music venue: Bargemusic. He has also given performances at the New York City Classical Guitar Society, The Hamptons Guitar Festival and The 92nd Street Y.
