The event will be held beneath a tent on Columbus Avenue, between West 76th and 77th Streets on Saturday, May 31st from 6:00 - to 8:30 p.m., with VIP cocktails starting at 5.00 p.m. All proceeds will be used for the BID’s Neighborhood Streetscape Beautification Program. The debut event honors renowned author, food critic and founder of City-Meals-on-Wheels Gael Greene, Stephen Hanson, founder and President of B.R. Guest Restaurants. Special honoree, Tim Zagat. Tickets for the event are $100 per person in advance, and $125 at the door. VIP tickets, $250-$1,000. Saturday, May 31 2008 - New Taste of the Upper West Side, Columbus Avenue Business District’s (BID) culinary fundraiser celebrating a renaissance of gourmet dining in the area by showcasing twenty-five of the city’s most celebrated chefs including: Blue Ribbon Sushi (Toshi Ueki); Dovetail (John Fraser); eighty one (Ed Brown); Jean-George (Jean-George Vongerichten); Telepan (Bill Telepan); Landmarc (Marc Murphy) and Jacques Torres Chocolates (Jacques Torres), along with 25 premier Long Island vineyards.
