, the Funky Fritters will perform a post-walk concert for the 2007 NYC Step Out for Diabetes Walk. The free concert lineup includes 3 acts – a rock & roll band, a merengue ensemble and NYC-based New Orleans blues band, The Funky Fritters – opening ceremonies hosted by the legendary Patti Labelle, and a performance By Doug E. Fresh.
The Funky Fritters will play a set of New Orleans blues standards, R&B, Jazz, Funk and gospel. Joining the Fritters will be one of rap’s most innovative, prolific, and dynamic MCs, Doug E. Fresh. This once in a lifetime show starts at 12 noon, so don’t be late!
The Funky Fritters, a New York City-based New Orleans blues and party band, have quickly become one the city’s number one acts. The powerhouse eleven-member band, with horns and backing vocals, serves up a bowl of funky gumbo and a hearty helping of New Orleans, Mardi Gras, Blues, Funk, Rock, Jam, R&B, Jazz and Gospel music.
