Stephen SondheimMonday, March 31 2008 - The American Musicals Project (AMP) presents its annual benefit gala: Fantasia for Sondheim. Elaine Stritch leads a shining cast singing an array of Stephen Sondheim works including memorable songs from shows such as West Side Story, Into the Woods and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Pamela Hunt will direct the performance with arrangements by the young composer-arranger Sam Davis. Judy Blazer, Bob Cuccioli and Jonathan Rayson are scheduled to perform.

The American Musicals Project (AMP) is a creative educational curriculum that promotes the study of history and English through musical theater to seventh and eighth grade students Every year, AMP celebrates great composing artists of the musical theater in a series of live concerts at the New-York Historical Society, hosted by theater luminaries and sung by Broadway performers.
