Monday, March 31 2008 - Figure Skating in Harlem is pleased to announce the 2008 Skating With the Stars, Under the Stars gala honoring skating legend Dorothy Hamill. The fourth annual benefit will be held on Monday evening, March 31, 2008, from 6pm-9pm at Wollman Rink in Central Park. It promises to be another fun and delightful evening that raises critically-needed funds for Figure Skating in Harlem’s pioneering youth development program. Whoopi Goldberg, Terry and Tina Lundgren and Donald and Melania Trump will serve as this year’s Honorary Chairs.

Now in its fourth year, this star-studded event attracts celebrities such as Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Vera Wang, Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, and Kelly Rowland, as well as prominent business leaders, philanthropists, and friends. The evening will also include a dinner buffet and auction. Tim Gunn, Mariska Hargitay & Peter Hermann, Lorraine Bracco, Lester Holt, Christopher & Sherman Meloni, Kim Raver, Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos, BD Wong, Diane Neal, Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, Nicole Miller, S. Epatha Merkerson, Carson Kressley, Kathryn Erbe, and B. Smith are among the members of the 2008 Benefit Committee.

At this event, guests are offered the extraordinary opportunity to skate side by side with Dorothy and a spectacular roster of Olympic and World Medalists including Sarah Hughes, Sasha Cohen, Viktor Petrenko, Kimmie Meisner, Johnny Weir, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, Evan Lysacek, Rudy Galindo, Timothy Goebel, Tai Babilonia and many more.
